    Needs to be longer for broad and fat folks

    I got the gatekeeper belt along with a Side Effect and in anticipation of ordering a Bantam. While the straps *do* go over my shoulder, they are not long enough to have the attached bag go past a certain point on my chest. I have a larger chest and am also fat, this means that most slings do not fit me. I want to use my Side Effects and future bags as slings, I can't be the only one who feels this way. Please TB, this belt would be brilliant if the straps were longer

    Too small

    I couldn’t cinch the belt tight enough to fit. This seems to be a chronic problem with Tom Bihn not making products that fit smaller people (I’m a petite 5’2”).

    I wish it was thicker and swiveled

    I love the bag I bought it for (the Sidekick) but I'm not sure this strap upgrade was worth it. The strap is thinner than I'd like, but more importantly, it doesn't have fasteners that swivel on each end, which means it tends to feel tangled or twisted when using as a cross-body strap. Since it's adjustable, it would also be handy if it had some sort of elastic says for excess strap you pull through when tightening. As it is, it feels messy to have the straps flapping around.

    Hip belts are the only way to carry a backpack.

    It's a simple thing, but by taking some of the weight off your shoulders and supporting the weight of the pack with your hips, your back and neck will thank you. Highly recommend you get padded hip belts for any bag that accepts them.

    It's what I've been missing

    I love my Aeronaut 45 that I bought in 2015. I have carried it thousands of miles over the last decade. The one thing that would have improved it was a waist strap. I had no idea that one was available. It made the bag I already loved nearly perfect.
